The Ultimate Cannabis-Infused Brownie
The cannabis brownie has for long been what people associate with “edibles”. What can we say about brownies? Not only are they delicious, chocolately, and incredibly satisfying, but they’re also an excellent way to deliver your cannabis medicine because of their density and fat-carrying ingredients.
While edibles have come a LONG way since the basic cannabis brownie, we wanted to pay homage to one of the most common methods of making cannabis edibles. Below you’ll find a recipe (inspired by Martha Stewart herself) for cannabis-infused brownies and the icing too.

Yield: One 9” x 13” pan.
Ingredients for the Cannabis-Infused Brownies:
- 4 large eggs
- ⅔ C canna-butter (see our recipe here)
- 2 C sugar
- 1 ½ C all-purpose flour
- 3 Tbsp cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 C chopped pecans (optional)
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Directions for the Brownies:
- Preheat oven to 350˚F. Butter a 9” x 13” baking pan; set aside.
- In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat eggs on low speed. Add canna-butter and sugar, beating for 10 minutes. (make sure you beat for the full 10 minutes, as it’s extremely important that the canna-butter is distributed evenly through the mix)
- Meanwhile, sift together flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add egg mixture, beating just until combined. Stir in pecans (optional) and vanilla. (again, be sure to mix thoroughly, as it’s extremely important that the canna-butter is distributed evenly through the batter)
- Pour batter into prepared baking dish. Bake until edges just start to pull away from pan, about 35 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool. Spread icing over brownies; allow to set before serving.
Icing Ingredients:
- 1 large egg
- 2 ½ C confectioners’ sugar
- 2 tsp cocoa powder
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 Tbsp butter, melted (use canna-butter if greater potency is desired)
Icing Directions:
- In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat egg with 1 cup sugar on low speed.
- With mixer running, add 1/2 cup sugar and cocoa into egg mixture; mix well.
- Add remaining 1 cup sugar, vanilla, and butter; beat to combine.
Be sure to store your cannabis brownies in a place where they cannot be accessed by children or pets. Be sure that you understand the dosing of each brownie to ensure that there are no surprises for anyone who consumes it.
