Cannabutter Recipe

  1. Decarb the Cannabis: Preheat the oven to 245 degrees (Fahrenheit). Use a non-stick, oven-safe tray and spread out the cannabis. You will want to cover the tray with parchment paper to prevent sticking. Set the timer for 30-40 minutes. After 10 minutes lightly shake the tray to expose any unbaked cannabis.
  2. Grind: Coarsly grind the decarboxylated cannabis with a hand grinder.
  3. Melt your Butter: Add 1 cup of butter and 1 cup of water to a saucepan, allow the mixture to simmer. Make sure to keep it at a low tempature. This will prevent scorching.
  4. Add Your Cannabis: Once the butter begins to melt, take your coarsly ground cannabis and add it to the butter/water mixture.
  5. Simmer: Maintain low heat for the mixture. Use a thermometer to ensure it never reaches above 200 degrees (Fahrenheit)
  6. Strain the Cannabutter: Line a funnel with cheesecloth and place it on the jar. Once the butter cools you can put the mixture ocer the cheesecloth and allow it to strain.
  7. Refrigerate Your Butter: Your butter will need to be refrigerated for an hour. Drain any excess water from the jar.
